Auction Administrator - Sturminster Newton

Symonds & Sampson LLP is looking for a top class administrator to join their award winning property auction department based in Sturminster Newton.

This fast paced and varied role requires excellent attention to detail, an ability to work in a robust team and thrive under pressure. The successful candidate must be organised, adaptable and able to prioritise effectively.
The role is primarily office based, with attendance at auctions and related events required.

A background in estate agency would be advantageous. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with the auctioneer and auction manager. Administration of the auction process from collating entries, website entry, catalogue production and auction day participation.
  • Provide some day-to-day secretarial assistance to Senior Partner.
  • Respond to enquiries via e-mail and telephone.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Computer literacy with good knowledge of word, outlook and excel
  • Good time management and ability to prioritise workloads
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

Graduate Surveyor - Wimborne

Symonds & Sampson LLP is seeking a Graduate Surveyor to join our busy Rural Professional team in Wimborne, Dorset. The position offers an incredibly varied role enabling the successful candidate to gain wide experience in all aspects of rural surveying. This will include but not be limited to:

  • Planning, diversification schemes, development and strategic planning
  • Purchase and sale of rural property
  • BPS and Countryside Stewardship
  • Landlord and Tenant related issues for both landlords and tenants
  • Valuation for banks, private individuals, probate and general tax planning
  • Compensation, telecoms and utilities installation work
  • General professional advice for rural clients

This is a diverse and interesting role offering exciting career prospects for the right candidate.  

Requirements of the role:

  • Full UK Driving license
  • Completion of an accredited degree course to enable entrance onto the APC rural pathway.

Experienced Town Planner

Symonds & Sampson LLP is looking to recruit an experienced Town Planner to join our professional department based in Sturminster Newton, providing all aspects of town planning advice to clients. The work will be varied and across all sectors including the rural, residential and commercial. Regular work would include preparation of development appraisals, preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals, and reviewing existing permissions and conditions. Plus the promotion of land through the planning system. 

The successful candidate will work independently to manage a varied workload and also work collaboratively with the department to provide advice and support to clients, therefore excellent communication skills are required and the ability to present at meetings and public consultation events.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years post graduate experience

Senior Auctioneer

Symonds & Sampson LLP Is looking for an experienced Senior Auctioneer to sell livestock, plant and machinery on farms and in Frome Livestock Market. This varied and exciting role will appeal to a candidate with knowledge and experience of the agricultural industry, ideally already working in a similar role, and who is looking to further their career. Alongside selling, this exciting position offers a candidate the opportunity to develop either their professional work or as a fieldsman and moving forwards, to assist in the management of the Market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • On-site (and on-line) selling at Dispersal Sales
  • Market auctioneering
  • Cataloguing and sale preparation
  • Identifying and developing business opportunities
  • Option to develop professional business or stock procurement

KEY SKILLS

  • Rostrum experience within the sector
  • A good understanding of livestock and agriculture
  • A confident team player with excellent people skills
  • Full driving license essential
  • RICS/CAAV/LAA qualifications desirable but not essential

Inventory & Inspection Clerk

Symonds & Sampson LLP is looking for a full-time flexible Inventory and Inspection Clerk to join our dedicated Property Management Department.  The role involves the preparation of start of tenancy Inventory Reports and end of tenancy Checkout inspections as well as visiting homes and putting together property reports.  Experience in the role is preferred but not essential.  An organised, cheerful and empathetic individual would be well suited to this rewarding role with the ability to work to deadlines and manage their own diary. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining good relations with Landlords and Tenants
  • Diary Management
  • Preparation of Inventories & Checkouts to include Taking meter readings & listing keys for the property
  • Managing, booking and attending property visits

KEY SKILLS

  • Strong computer skills
  • Use of databases & excellent IT skills
  • Experience of residential lettings/and or property management preferred but not essential
  • A good eye for detail

Trainee Accounts Assistant

Symonds & Sampson LLP is looking for an enthusiastic and conscientious Trainee Accounts Assistant based in Poundbury to support our busy accounts team.

KEY RESPONSIBIILITIES

  • Dealing primarily with client accounts
  • General administration

KEY SKILLS

  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work methodically and on own initiative
  • Demonstrable numeracy, literacy and IT skills
  • Ability to communicate well with team members, other employees and third parties such as clients and suppliers

EXPERIENCE

Accountancy experience is not required in this trainee role, though relevant skills are preferred. It would be suitable for part-qualified candidates

HOURS

A full-time permanent role, 9am - 5.30pm daily

  • A salary of £18,600 - £20,000 pa dependent on experience and skills

THE OFFICE The accounts department is based in the Burraton Square office, a multi-disciplinary office within Poundbury, with its excellent range of local amenities within walking distance.  It is home to our Commercial, Block Management and Agricultural departments.
