Symonds & Sampson is once again providing its popular Free Farm Valuation Week for possible sales of farms, estates, smallholdings, land and rural properties. Taking place on 3-7 February 2025, farmers and landowners across the Southwest are invited to take advantage of the offer.“This is a chance to get an up-to-date market appraisal of your property,” says Andrew Tuffin, Head of the Farm Agency department. “We cover the whole spectrum of rural properties, from estates to paddocks and commercial farms to development opportunities.
“In 2024 we saw an increase in the supply of land and farms, most notably in Devon. We were also involved in more off-market transactions than in previous years. Higher interest rates dampened some commercial farmers' appetite, and the increase in Capital Gains Tax in the October budget caused some hesitation. It is far too early to predict the impact of the changes to Inheritance Tax Reliefs.
“Values continue to diverge as we find we are sourcing buyers with more varied reasons for purchase and from wider areas.
“Our Devizes and Tiverton offices are going from strength to strength, offering several farms and blocks of land across Wiltshire and Devon to add to our traditional strongholds in Dorset and Somerset, and we have linked up with Cornish agents Millerson to offer auction properties across Cornwall”.
To take advantage of Symonds & Sampson’s expertise and increasing coverage, please contact Andrew Tuffin on 01258 472244 or one of the team to discuss your property, the market and values.
