After one of the wettest months for decades Symonds & Sampson’s agricultural auctioneers were relieved to see the sunshine when they dispersed sheep equipment near Beaminster on behalf of Chedington Court Estate Ltd on Saturday.Head of the department, Greg Ridout, said “The equipment had been very well maintained and presented and included every item a self-respecting sheep farmer would need. A large crowd came along, and prices were good as a Polaris 570EFI,28ft livestock box, sheep handling equipment and livestock sundries went under the hammer”.
Trade was strong at the dispersal of the Holland Farms (Dorchester) Friesian Holstein dairy sale last week (below). The well managed herd drew interest both online and onsite, with 61 cattle selling at over £2000, and a top price of £2,520.
Our spring diary of sales has already taken us from as far afield as Kings Somborne near Winchester through Dorset and Somerset and into mid Devon, and with new dates being added to the calendar for sales of machinery, equipment, vehicles and more over the coming months, please keep an eye on our website or contact our Agricultural Auctions experts (below) on 01935 392909 or 01884 218911 for all the details.
