On a sunny spring afternoon in the capital, Senior Residential Sales Manager Peter Grout-Smith and Auction Partner Meredith Wallis hosted another of our popular West Country Property Showcases in the heart of Central London yesterday, 26 March.Despite continued economic uncertainty, we were pleased to receive enquiries ahead of the event from buyers in London and the Home Counties looking towards a move to the West Country. The London Office remains an ideal setting to meet clients in a central and accessible location, and the event offers the opportunity to discuss both aspirations and practical considerations. Alongside those seeking a more traditional change of pace, we continue to see buyers relocating from the capital and the home counties in search of a change of lifestyle, and, increasingly, multigenerational living opportunities.
Our diverse portfolio was on display throughout the day, ranging from period country houses and coastal homes to farms, land and development opportunities, as well as more contemporary and energy-efficient properties. We took the opportunity to launch our forthcoming property auction in Axminster on 30 April, together with a small country estate in Hadspen, Somerset.
Peter noted that demand for modern, energy-efficient homes remains strong, particularly where lower running costs are a key consideration. Interest continues across both smaller, character-led developments and larger schemes, including King Charles’s development at Poundbury. While the market remains price-sensitive, realistic pricing - guided by experienced agents - remains key to achieving successful outcomes.
