The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2025 will open for applications on Thursday, 29 May 2025, and close on 10 July 2025.The grant is available to help applicants buy items that improve productivity, manage slurry and improve animal health and welfare. The FETF grant is open to farmers, horticulturalists, and forestry owners in England. Agricultural contractors can also apply if they have a registered business address in England.
Grants for items on the animal health and welfare list are available in the following sectors:
- Beef cattle
- Dairy cattle
- Sheep
- Pigs
- Poultry - laying chickens and broiler chickens (for both, including rearing and breeding farms)
Grant funding contribution is between 40% and 50%, depending on the theme applied for. The grant amount listed against each item is the amount the RPA will pay you based on calculations for market averages for each item of equipment, or, if you obtain a lower price for the item, the grant contribution will be based on that lower figure. The responsibility is on the applicant to fund the remaining cost of an item. Items must be paid in full before a grant claim can be made.
When applying for Productivity or Slurry items under the FETF grant, it is essential to notify the RPA if your SBI has received less than £10,000 of Productivity/Slurry funding from any previous FETF rounds, as this can increase your application score by 25%. Applications for Animal Health and Welfare items can be increased by 20% if you provide evidence that you’ve discussed your application with a vet.
