Before joining Symonds & Sampson, I worked for a firm of international property agents in London. Keen to pursue my interest in property and wanting to move to the West Country, I jumped at the opportunity to join Symonds & Sampson in 2020.The professional training offered was a major factor in my joining Symonds & Sampson. The Lettings industry is heavily governed by legislation and government policy, so undertaking qualification and continued professional development is essential to being able to carry out the role with confidence.
I studied the various elements of my Level 3 Award in Residential Letting and Property Management, fitting my online training around work, which of course made the learning immediately relevant to my work. As well as offering dedicated study time, Symonds & Sampson have also provided me with extensive supporting documents to use, a bible for the Lettings industry you could say, which allows me to learn extra information in my own time. It’s also a valuable resource to help me understand and respond to situations I encounter in my daily work.
Following on from my Level 3 Award, Symonds & Sampson continue to encourage further training to ensure we are always up to date with the ever-changing legislation. This is both in-house during regular department meetings with colleagues and the Head of Lettings team, and through professional workshops and seminars, the majority of which are hosted by ARLA Propertymark.
Four years on, I am now Assistant Lettings Manager at the Poundbury branch and building on the training and support I have been given to provide a professional service to my clients.
