Symonds & Sampson’s dedicated Agricultural Auctions team is well known within the farming and wider community for the efficient and comprehensive service they provide to their clients.Their reputation for holding successful auctions extends beyond the sale of livestock, machinery, standing crops and fodder to various sales held on behalf of individuals, limited companies, local authorities, and insolvency practitioners. An experienced team conducts highly efficient online and onsite sales for retirement, closure and restructuring of businesses throughout the South of England. In 2023, we held sales from St Austell in the west to Newbury in the east, featuring dispersals of farming, nursery and workshop stock, as well as whole herd dispersal and our regular online sales conducted through our Tiverton office.
On the whole, trade through 2023 has been strong, particularly for well-maintained equipment coming straight from a farm, and is driven by a loyal audience of UK and Europe-based buyers.
Our 2023 highlights include:
- Private Treaty and On-Farm herd dispersals, with organic, block calving and AYR herds in Devon, Dorset and Somerset
- Private sale of Organic dairy herd followed by an on-site machinery auction for Barrington Organic Partnership – Ilminster, Somerset
- Online & Onsite Dispersals of Farm Machinery and Livestock Equipment in Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire
- Dispersal Sale of Tractors, Combine & farm machinery at the 952-acre Preston Farm, Blandford on behalf of The Harding Farming Partnership (pictured), our farm agents having sold the farm
