Symonds & Sampson is pleased to have secured planning permission for an extension and expansion of Yandles in Martock. Established in 1860, Yandles is a well-established and valued local business that now includes an active sawmill, retail, café, and woodworking courses. The application proposed new buildings, extensions to existing buildings, a new parking layout, landscaping, and a new access. As part of the wider redevelopment, permission was also gained for demolition, new extraction units, and a large new dispatch warehouse. Symonds & Sampson worked closely with the applicant, external specialist consultants, and the local authority to ensure a smooth design and application process.
Symonds & Sampson's planning expert comment, “This was a particularly exciting project to lead as it involved many different elements, including creating new floorspace, redesigning parts of the site and a new access. The project team worked well, focusing on communication and identifying potential issues early to ensure they were addressed. Overall, we are delighted with the end result and thrilled to play our part in the expansion of a local business”.
