Symonds & Sampson’s first property auction of the year was a resounding success, returning a 92% success rate for lots in Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall.Head of auctions, Meredith Holmes, was very pleased with the result “The auction lots covered a large area, the furthest east at New Milton being some 200 miles from most westerly lot in Helston Cornwall. It was particularly good to see so many clients and bidders joining us in person, as we sold property on behalf of The Duchy Of Cornwall, Housing Associations, Executors, and private individuals.
“Buyers came from far and wide, London, Cornwall and Northern Ireland. Our furthest bidders dialled in from the slopes in Verbier, another joined during their holiday in Zanzibar – it might have been 2pm in Sherborne, but it was gin and tonic time in the Indian Ocean".
