Our West Country Property Showcase took place in a sunny capital last week, attracting buyers eager to meet our agents in person to discuss their search requirements. Many were keen to learn more about relocating or investing in property across our region.Head of Agency Jon Summers led the event, accompanied by Gabriella Placidi and Peter Grout-Smith from our Salisbury and Poundbury offices, respectively.
"It was clear that more people are commuting back into London to work, as employers encourage staff to return to the office”, reported Jon. “Interestingly, those who have enjoyed the flexibility of remote work in recent years and wish to avoid the daily commute are now contemplating career changes to facilitate relocation and achieve a better work-life balance. Despite the pending stamp duty rise for second-home owners, we still saw strong interest in purchasing additional homes.
“As is often the case, several investors and speculators attended, particularly those keen on opportunities through our auction department. This event should reassure sellers across our region that demand from London and Home Counties buyers remains strong."

Senior Farm Agent Gabriella Placidi observed "The demand for estates and farmland remains robust, despite all of the recent turmoil with the retraction of the sustainable farming incentive and the recent changes in inheritance tax. Land is still looked upon as a safe investment, with interest being seen from international investors, large business owners, farmers, individuals and charities."
