Shooting rights and lots in Sandbanks and Shropshire made for a scintillating property auction for Symonds & Sampson on 20 July.Head of Auctions, Meredith Holmes, reports “We had 24 lots for sale in Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset, Wiltshire, and Shropshire and they ranged from parcels of agricultural land, cottages for renovation and commercial properties to shooting rights to land subject to leasehold rights.
“Sale prices averaged 20% above guide with bidders from London, The Home Counties and Kent, bidding against local buyers, generating strong competition for all lots”.
Amongst the highlights were:
- 6 acres of land near Shaftesbury sold for 75% above guide.
- A smallholding at Hardington near Yeovil sold for 43% above guide.
- Woodland at Buckland Newton sold for 76% above guide.
- Land at Sandbanks sold for 33% above guide.
- A cottage at Trent near Sherborne sold for 44% above guide.
- Shooting rights on the River Avon near Ringwood sold for 157% above guide.
