Symonds & Sampson’s second property auction in eight days raised £2.5 million for their clients yesterday, taking the total for October to nearly £5 million.Auction Partner Meredith Wallis was particularly pleased to see a full room: “The build up to the auction was steady, and then it suddenly became very busy in the final week and registrations to bid doubled the day before the sale. Buyers were keen to secure the lots in all price ranges, but some left it late to ask solicitors to check the legal packs. Most conveyancers have a full workload, so it is wise to get organised early.
“Most of the lots were in The East Dorset/Bournemouth areas and we were delighted with the prices. It bodes well for the sales in November and December."
Notable prices achieved included:
- 1.84 acres at Nether Compton sold for £65,000
- 43 acres at Wimborne sold for £13,000 per acre
- 2.5 acres in Blandford sold for 190% above guide
- A detached house in Blandford sold for £800,000
