Symonds & Sampson have been proud supporters of Love Local, Trust Local since they were formed in 2018 and were delighted to attend this year’s Awards dinner at the Dorset County Showground in September. Local producers celebrated some of Dorset's finest producers, receiving awards for their excellence.A-J Monro and Morgan Fry of Symonds & Sampson LLP enjoyed the privilege—and challenge—of judging the drinks category. This year, the category was subdivided into spirits and other drinks. The winners were Purbeck Cider for non-spirits and Shroton Fair Gin for the Spirit Category.
The awards are held every two years, and any producer within the Dorset area is encouraged to enter to champion their product. The LLTL website provides more information on the types of businesses that have entered and winners/runners-up from previous years.
During the evening, guests enjoyed a fantastic three-course dinner prepared by LLTL founder Barbara Cossins and her team using produce from some of the entrants and attendees. In addition to the category winner awards, some honorary awards were presented, and we were delighted to applaud Symonds & Sampson’s former Senior Partner, Andrew Robinson, as he was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contribution to farming and rural business in Dorset—a thoroughly deserved award.
