Renters Rights Bill, EPC and Legislation Updates

Published: 12/06/2025 By Rachael James

A series of Letting Seminars hosted by Partner and Head of Lettings, Rachael James, over recent months attracted a sell-out audience. The seminars covered all aspects of the impending changes in legislation, as the Renters Rights Bill and changes to EPC requirements for rented properties become clearer. With the Renters Rights Bill expected to take effect in the Autumn, and EPC changes phasing in towards 2028, all landlords must understand how this legislation will affect them.

Rachael’s seminars were recorded, and landlords are invited to register to receive a link to view them. Within the recordings is information on:

  • The Renters' Rights Bill
  • Rent increases
  • Rent in advance
  • The ombudsman
  • The Private Rented Sector Database
  • Pets and Discrimination
  • Changes to EPC requirements in rented properties
Rachael also introduces bespoke insurance policies for Landlords renting their properties through Symonds & Sampson.

The seminars were free of charge and open to all, and provoked lively and informative question-and-answer sessions after the presentations. Attendees were invited to donate to Symonds & Sampson’s chosen charities, Macmillan Cancer Support and Prostate Cancer UK, and £329 was raised for these most deserving of causes.

We invite all landlords to register to receive a link to the recording by clicking here. They will also receive an early invitation to attend further seminars and stay up-to-the-minute with the latest guidance as it is released, leading up to the act becoming law, currently anticipated for the Autumn of 2025.
