With Devon being a popular holiday destination, our office in Axminster often attracts visitors fantasizing about a new life in the west country. However, time is often short, with the call of the beach and precious leisure time being uppermost in peoples’ minds.A somewhat off the cuff meeting in our Axminster office with a London couple planning their retirement, turned into a serious property search over several years. Still based and working in London, time and logistics did not make their search for a farm suitable for multi-generation living for themselves and their son easy.
Nothing beats being able to sit down face to face to really understand a buyer’s motivation and requirements. After a pre-arranged meeting in SW1, during which a strong relationship was forged, we were able to identify a suitable farm in the Blackdown Hills with a significant primary residence and development potential for an expanding family. Today three generations of the family are now settled and breathing new life into the farm.
