Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2025

Published: 07/05/2025 By Harriet Andrews

The Rural payments agency has launched the Farming Equipment and Technology fund (FETF) for 2025. The application window will run from the 29th May 2025 closing on the 10th July 2025.

This years scheme is split into three themes: improving productivity, managing slurry, and improving animal health and welfare. Applicants can apply for one grant per theme, with funding available between £1,000 and £25,000 for each. You may apply for items across more than one theme, and even if you've previously received funding.

Eligible items include (but are not limited to):
  • Livestock handling systems
  • Dairy and calf rearing equipment
  • Arable machinery
  • Slurry system items
RPA will pay you a grant amount of 40% or 50% towards either:

  • The average cost of the item – if an item costs you the same or more than the expected average cost in the item lists.
OR

  • The actual cost you pay for the item – if an item costs you less than the expected average cost in the item lists.

FETF remains a competitive scheme, and applications will be scored and ranked against other bids. Higher scoring applications are more likely to be funded, so it's important to consider strategic item selection, making use of opportunities to improve your application's score and providing competent supporting evidence.

As in previous rounds, we will be assisting a number of clients with their applications and welcome enquiries from both existing and new clients who would like guidance through the application process.
