Exciting May Auction Unveiled at The London

Published: 12/04/2024 By Jon Summers

Today saw the official launch of Symonds & Sampson’s highly anticipated May Collective Property Auction, taking place in Axminster on 16 May.

Head of Agency, Jon Summers (pictured en-route to the launch) led the launch event in the heart of London, saying “The 24-lot catalogue includes properties in Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, and Somerset, and is one of the most exciting we have put together this year.

"The launch yielded strong interest from buyers from across the capital, who were joined by others who travelled from further afield” Jon went on to add “The London Office has long played a pivotal role in hosting these events, providing a popular and proven invaluable opportunity for face-to-face engagement with buyers. This interaction allows for detailed discussions on individual properties; we can answer questions and provide additional information, whilst also guiding buyers through the auction registration and bidding process, something that is especially beneficial to those unable to attend in person on auction day, who will join the auction online or through telephone bidding.”

The tone of reporting in the property media has been more upbeat of late, and market data is signalling an uplift in activity and sentiment. Jon noted the palpable atmosphere of optimism during the launch event. "Recent media reports have been positive, with market data beginning to show an uplift in activity and positivity. This was evident today, and bodes well for an exciting Auction in May,"

Partners Ross Willmington and Meredith Holmes echoed Jon’s words “The catalogue includes land with planning permission for residential dwellings, properties for renovation or improvement, commercial premises, and agricultural land.

“The sale also includes some unique lots which have already made the telephones ring. Blue Violet at Spreyton near Crediton (below) is a cottage for renovation with buildings and about 26 acres in a ring fence. It will be launching to the market next week, meanwhile register your interest with Sarah Vere at our Tiverton Office on 01884 218911.

“A Grade II listed ruin (below) set in 11 acres of pasture and woodland at Shute near Axminster provides glorious views over open countryside and is a real beauty (and has already caught the eye of the Country Life property editors).

“Whilst at Offwell, near Honiton (below), a barn with full planning permission for conversion with pasture and woodland in five lots is another gem!”
