The award-winning firm of auctioneers Symonds & Sampson had a successful auction of properties in Devon, Somerset, and Dorset on 19 October with land at Queensnympton taking the headlines.Paul Heard, a partner, at the firm said “This was the largest block of land auctioned in the South Molton area for many years and it drew terrific interest not only from local people but also others with rollover money to spend. “We were instructed by the executors of Ronald Radford, and divided the land into four lots. The auction room in Axminster was fit to bursting and after competitive bidding, the amount raised was just over £1 million, averaging just under £10,000 per acre.
“Other highlights included small parcels of land near Membury, Cullompton, and All Saints near Axminster, together with houses in Axminster, Lyme Regis and Ilminster, and in some of Dorset & Devon's most sought-after villages".
