Land and property in Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Devon and Cornwall went under the hammer at our property auction in Sherborne yesterday. Auctioneer Mark Lewis has the details.Auctioneer Mark Lewis was encouraged to see demand for land and property stemming from all parts of the South of England. “We were selling various parcels of land in Somerset which drew the crowds. Local farmers were bidding against buyers from further afield who were buying for tax purposes. There were also houses for renovation and redevelopment opportunities throughout the region”.

Auction manager Meredith Holmes added “It was very good to see buy to let landlords return to the room. They were specifically looking for properties with good EPC ratings so that minimal work is required to achieve acceptable standards and start generating a healthy return”.
