Young Rural Business Forum

Symonds & Sampson are looking forward to the second meeting of the Young Rural Business Forum to be held in February.  The YRBF is your chance to have your say and to talk with four experienced rural professional services firms. Porter Dodson solicitors, Symonds & Sampson agents, Handelsbanken Dorchester and Albert Goodman accountants, who have jointly set up the forum to support young people working in farming, agriculture, horticulture, diversification, food & drink or any other rurally based business.

Young Rural Business Forum

The aim is to build a strong network of contacts and, in an informal and relaxed format (with plenty of food and drink), provide informative and innovative speakers and vital information to allow you to grow your business and develop skills to suit it. We want to support the next generation of rural business in any way we can. The social aspect is key too and there will be opportunities to network and have fun along the way.

Our next meeting will be at Black Cow Vodka and numbers will be very limited. The evening will include a *vodka tasting, and food and drink will be provided.

The key is that you drive the agenda and subjects important to you and the business in which you work.

Some subjects that may be covered:-

  • Preparing a bank funding proposal;
  • Making the most out of the land/assets you have;
  • Getting benefit from tax reliefs and allowances for your business;
  • Managing succession and family matters.

The date for the forum is Wednesday 27th February from 7.00pm, and the venue is Black Cow Vodka Childhay Manor, Childhay, Beaminster, Dorset DT8 3LQ

Places are limited and must be booked in advance by emailing Paula Whitehead, Events Manager at Porter Dodson or phone 01823 625826
