Symonds & Sampson sell in Sussex

Symonds & Sampson cover a very wide area but it is rare that they travel all the way to West Sussex!  But that is what they did on Friday 18 October, when the on-site sale team sold farm machinery for Cowdray Home Farms who are changing their farming policy.

Auctioneer Greg Ridout said “This was one of the largest on farm dispersal sales in the UK this year and the vast number of lots drew interest from all over the country. With 10 Case, New Holland and Ford tractors, a Bateman self-propelled sprayer, MF telehandler, and arable /grass machinery on offer we knew it would be a very big sale. Added to this we had potato equipment, dairy and workshop items and miscellaneous lots.

“Most prices were well ahead of expectations and it was really good to see so many of our regular buyers and clients make the journey to Midhurst.”

Notable prices included

  • a Bateman RB35 sprayer which saw a lot of pre-auction interest at £69,500
  • a Case Optum 270 CVX at £77,500
  • a brace of Puma 165’s make £64,500 and £53,500 respectively
  • an introduced 2014 New Holland T7.270 at £50,800.
