Spring offering of farms

Our Farm Agency Department are currently offering an exceptional selection of farms and land for sale across the south west, with more in the pipeline for the coming months.

Spring offering of farms

In Dorset, Ashcombe Barn Farm (main photo above) at Stubhampton has come to the market this week, a gloriously located 143 acre grassland farm on the edge of the Cranborne Chase. With an attractive 5 bedroom house, annexe, range of buildings and equestrian facilities, the farm is eminently suited to a range of livestock, equestrian, sporting, conservation and amenity uses.

Equestrians might also be interested in Golden Lane Stables, a 10.65 acre holding (above) in a tranquil location at Sheldon, near Honiton. The property has stabling for 19 horses, full sized outdoor arena and about 10.65 acres of gently sloping pastureland.

On the Devon-Cornwall border, Milford Farm at Lifton (above) stands in 131 acres of pretty pasture and woodland with a wildlife pond and river frontage.  The handsome Grade II Listed house also has an annexe. The farm is available as a whole or in two lots.

In Wiltshire, Blueridge Farm (above) is an interesting 6.7 acre small holding at Hawkeridge near Westbury,  perfect for a down-sizing farmer or a buyer looking for the space to establish the good life. A 3 bedroom house, garden room and useful paddocks are all situated on a no through road.

Coming to the market soon is a residential farm in a glorious position in the heart of Exmoor (above) with a fine 6/7 bedroom country house boasting stunning views over open moorland. Set in approximately 53 acres of pasture, with woodland, four holiday cottages, a range of adaptable outbuildings and stables and river frontage.

We are also currently offering a large variety of land for sale across the region by auction, tender and private treaty. Parcels of woodland, amenity land, land with either planning or potential to develop, and agricultural land, ranging from small plots to 100 acres in size can be found here, appealing to variety of buyers.

Andrew Tuffin, Head of Farm Agency, reports a robust land market in in our region.  ‘In 2021 we sold over 4,000 acres, often achieving over guide. Most of the under bidders remain in the market. Our list of applicants registered to buy farms and land is increasing in size every week - we added more buyers keen to move to the area at The London & Country Property Show earlier this week in Chelsea.  The list comprises a diversity of buyers; investors, farmers with rollover money from development sales, land hungry established dairy, livestock and mixed farmers, residential buyers, amenity buyers wanting their slice of England, and developers needing to offset their carbon footprint.

'In the first 5 months of 2022, our supply of bare land has been reasonable however the supply of farms, large or small, has been very poor. We anticipate therefore that the offerings above will generate a good interest'.

If you require more information on the farms and land either on or coming to the market or would like a free, no obligation, appraisal of your property please contact Andrew on 01258 472244 or our Farm Agents in your local office.
