Something very exciting is coming to Dorchester……

Symonds & Sampson have successfully let one of Dorchester High Street’s most iconic buildings.  Believed originally to be the site of the town house of the Abbot of Abbotsbury,  6 High West Street achieved notoriety as the home of ‘The Hanging Judge’ during the Bloody Assizes of the late 17th Century, before he fled, was captured and ended his life incarcerated in the Tower of London.

After a spell as a gentleman’s outfitters, 'Judge Jeffery's' became a restaurant and, under several different names, has enjoyed success as one of the town’s landmark restaurants. Jan Merriott, Commercial manager at Symonds & Sampson is looking forward to the new incumbents opening their doors in March. ‘If, like me, you enjoy the very best locally sourced food in a character environment, you won’t be disappointed.  There’s quite a bit for the new occupier to do before opening, but I’m sure it will be worth the wait’.
