Rymers Rally Tractor Run success!

Sunday 27th May saw the gathering of 73 tractors (and a steam engine!) in Wimborne St Giles for the third Rymer’s Rally! This charity tractor run, organised by Symonds and Sampson began in 2017 and has turned into something of an annual fixture.

Rymers Rally Tractor Run success!

Along with the myriad of vintage tractors and Landrovers came over 400 people who all enjoyed a tour of the usually private Shaftesbury Estate in a number of passenger trailers.

After the tractor run, participants returned to HQ to enjoy a BBQ, Ice Cream and Bar as well as live music from the Rock and Blues Company.

The organisers were delighted by the result, raising a total of £5,811 to be split between Wessex Heartbeat and Bournemouth Hospital Charity.

Nick Rymer of Symonds and Sampson wished to extend his thanks to all the local businesses that came out to help “We had tremendous support from so many local businesses –FRD Ltd, All Hallows Farmhouse, The Dorset Bench Company to name but a few. Without the generous support of these businesses this event simply would not be possible”.

Refreshments were sourced as locally as possible with Beer from Sixpenny Handley, Cranborne Chase Cider and meat from W.S Clarke & Sons. The BBQ was run by the unflappable Janey White who also prepared some delicious pulled pork and salads.

Sincere thanks must go to the Earl of Shaftesbury and the staff at St Giles Farms Ltd, as well as to NFU Mutual Wessex for insuring the event and to the Symonds and Sampson staff, their families and friends who pitched in to make the day such a success.

Since it began in 2017, Rymer’s Rally has raised over £11,000 for local charities and we hope to go on to raise even more!
