Property auctioneers Symonds & Sampson held their largest sale on 24 September, breaking all records. 1,500 people tuned in to watch and engage in the bidding as prices went well above expectations. A mixture of residential, commercial and agricultural land were in sold in Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Hampshire.
Auctioneer Mark Lewis said it had been a long and tiring campaign; “we always start promotion 6 weeks before an auction and from the outset, interest in the lots was relentless with over 8,000 legal packs downloaded, 500 viewings and 350 registered bidders.
“The bidding was very strong and buyers from as far afield as America pushed prices up – people just wants to buy a piece of England.”
Notable prices include:
Plots and Development land
Properties for renovation
Redcliffe Farm (main picture), a substantial 5 bedroom farmhouse in a stunning position on the River Frome near Wareham with 20 acres sold for £1.55 million
Mark thanks all sellers, bidders, solicitors and colleagues for their contribution to the successful sale, and is welcoming entries for forthcoming auctions on 22 October, 4 November and 10 December. Contact Mark Lewis 01258 473766 or Meredith Holmes 01202 843190.
