Symonds & Sampson’s sixth online property auction was the strongest yet with another 100% success rate for lots throughout Dorset and Wiltshire.
Mark Lewis of Symonds & Sampson was astonished by the response to the auction “ We knew that it was going to be a busy sale and I am not sure we would have been able to cram everyone in the sale room – I doubt there would have been one large enough to accommodate all the bidders.
The total number of legal documents downloaded was over 3,000 and the number of people registering for the legal packs was just over 400. 142 bidders became involved in the auction which became very exciting.
The highlights were:
Fordington Farm Dorchester: A farmhouse on behalf of The Duchy of Cornwall .Guide £500,000 Hammer price after 207 bids £806,000.
16 Wareham Road Wareham: A house that had failed to sell with another agent. Guide £295,000 sold immediately after for £310,000.
Church Street Dorchester: A town centre shop with accommodation. Guide £225,000 Hammer price after 12 bids £236,000.
East Street Blandford: A substantial town house. Guide £175,000 Hammer price after 6 bids £192,000.
Old School Ryme: A stunning old school with potential. Guide £135,000 Hammer price after 106 bids £267,000. 97% above guide!
If those prices were amazing enough the agricultural department excelled themselves:
24 acres at Chickerell sold for £234,000.
6 acres at Chickerell sold for £121,000.
1.6 acres at Horton sold for £75,000 -43 bids 114% above guide.
1 acre at Mere sold for £58,000 132% above guide after 28 bids.
The star of the show was half an acre at Chickerell. Another firm valued it at £10,000 but we achieved £100,000 after 62 bids which equates to 566% above guide.
This was a truly firm wide effort and a big thank you goes out to everyone at Symonds & Sampson who took calls, carried out viewings, won the instructions and nursed the buyers along.
We have a small auction in August and our biggest one in September but I wish we could have been in the room today. It would have been great fun!
