New legislation and a buoyant market - busy times for our Letting agents

The Residential Lettings headlines in the first part of 2019 have been dominated by legislation.  New rules on tenant fees came into effect in June, and agents, landlords and tenants have had to adapt to what has been a radical change in procedures.

New legislation and a buoyant market - busy times for our Letting agents

Within excess of 100 legal obligations for Landlords to be aware of, our letting agents are frequently visiting landlords not only because they have property coming available, but to advise on legislation and rent levels to ensure that their properties are performing well.

Meanwhile, the market remains strong.  In the first 6 months of 2019 our agents have let over 250 properties, 47 of which were in June after the new legislation came into effect.   Demand for property remains high across the region, and investor landlords still view residential lettings as a viable opportunity.  As Jon Summers reports in his review of the sales market, ignore the doom and gloom in the media, people are moving and the rental market is buoyant.

Understanding that no Landlord is the same, we offer a wide range of competitively priced services to suit all.  Our dedicated property management department acts on behalf of around 200 Landlords and manages 900 properties. As lettings agents, our legal paperwork is updated regularly to ensure that we are compliant and giving our clients peace of mind.  With over 160 years of letting every type of property in all kinds of markets and ARLA qualified staff working from eight centres, Symonds & Sampson really are the regional lettings experts.
