Lease Enfranchisement

Leasehold Property? Our professional team can assist with renewal negotiations and valuations

Lease Enfranchisement

Lease enfranchisement affects leasehold interests held within residential leasehold property. According to Government data there were an estimated 4.3 million leasehold dwellings in England, equating to 18% of the English housing stock.

The Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Acts 1993 provides certain rights to ‘tenants’ including the right to acquire a new lease. Symonds and Sampson would always recommend that where lease advisory is concerned, you seek professional and independent advice either from a solicitor or legal advisor, however, as part of this process valuations and negotiations of premiums are often required in return for the grant a new lease/extension. This is where we are able to help.

Symonds & Sampson have acted for both landlords and tenants regarding leasehold enfranchisement cases by undertaking valuations of leasehold interests and handling negotiations, seeking to achieve favourable and positive results on behalf of our Clients.

Symonds & Sampson's professional team can offer advice on your leasehold property interests, please contact either George Rogers on 01935 382902 or your local Symonds & Sampson Office.
