Land of hope and glory

Symonds & Sampson property auctioneers have 11 lots of land in their 21 May auction and it looks like being the most interesting sale of property for some years.

Land of hope and glory

Auctioneer Mark Lewis has been visiting the land in Dorset, Devon and Somerset and is intrigued to find out what it will sell for “ the land lots are all different and some are truly outstanding and should attract buyers from all over the country. We have already received enquiries for some land, following strong publicity on the BBC and national media, and it appears that it has captured the imagination from people abroad as well.

“Highlights include:

Land at Sheeps Tor Dartmoor: 127 acres of moorland which includes Yellowstone stone circle and a leat installed by Sir Francis Drake to supply water to Plymouth!

Land at Osmington Bay: 6.9 acres with the most incredible views over the bay, Portland and the sea. One of the best views in Dorset!

Land at Cucklington Wincanton: 8 acres of wonderful land suitable for grass but also, rarely for this area, vegetables being  an oolite soil over limestone.

Land at Melplash Bridport: 13 acres of gently sloping pasture with wonderful countryside views.

Land at Maiden Newton Dorchester: 30 acres of arable / pasture land with, again, amazing views.

Askerswell Dorchester: 60 acres of organic pasture land with conservation appeal and far reaching sea views.

Fiddleford Sturminster Newton: 11 acres with a Dutch barn on the site. Is there a chance of a dwelling?

Land at Marston Magna Yeovil: 27 acres of high yielding arable land.

And not forgetting 5 acres at Horton Wimborne with woodland and pasture. Land rarely comes for sale here so what a chance you have.

“I hope you are able to view the land and look forward to receiving your bids at the livestream auction on 21 May”
