Issues and Options Document for the North Dorset Local Plan Review

Have your say on the Issues and Options Document for the North Dorset Local Plan Review and let us promote your land.

There is a chronic shortage of housing in North Dorset and, following a report in July this year, the council have admitted that their target to provide a 5 year housing supply has been in breach of national housing targets.

The current local plan promises 285 houses per year but this has now increased to over 330 dwellings as developments have not been built which gives landowners on the edge of villages the opportunity to promote their fields.

The plan covers important issues such as where housing should be built and what infrastructure may be needed. It also looks at how the environment can be protected and how future developments can be made more sustainable. The Inspector, who examined the plan, recommended a number of modifications to enable it to be adopted. This included a modification relating to the need for an early review. This was to take account of new evidence relating to the level of housing need in the district.

The consultation ends on 22 January 2018 so you would be wise to contact Symonds & Sampson as soon as possible to ensure your land is being promoted properly.
