Results from the hotly contested Symonds & Sampson Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show ‘Farm on a Plate’ competition are in
It’s Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show Day, we’d love to be at Motcombe, meeting and greeting guests and enjoying one of the finest Agricultural shows in the land. Obviously, it’s not to be this year, but a huge thank you to the children who joined the spirit of the show, and created fantastic ‘Farms on Plates’ for our virtual competition.
Representatives of the show have been suitably challenged by the quality of the entries, and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the fabulous creations submitted.
Congratulations to 2-year-old Grace, whose impressive farm (above) is the winner of Class 1, and to 9-year-old Charlie for his farm in Class 2, we look forward to welcoming them to our stand at the 2021 show.
A big thank you to all the budding garden designers who took the time to enter the show, a special mention to Gillingham Sioux Beavers, led by Jackie Westbrook who submitted 3 entries! We hope we’ll see their craft entries in person on 2021.
Thank you to Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show secretary James Cox, and the committee for joining forces with Symonds & Sampson to run the competition. If you missed this one and you’re quick, there's still time to enter the Symonds & Sampson Melplash Show Garden on a Plate and the Dorset County Show Vegetable Creature competitions, find details here.
