Contract Farming Opportunity - The Kingsdon Estate

Symonds & Sampson are pleased to offer 806 acres on The Kingsdon Estate near Somerton to be let as a whole or as two lots on a 6-year Contract Farming Agreement commencing 1 October 2018.

‘This is a very rare opportunity for a local farmer looking to take on such a substantial amount of arable ground’ says Agent Greg Ridout. ‘The Contractor chosen will provide, labour, machinery, crop management expertise and crop marketing’.

The land itself is mainly classified as Grade 3 with some smaller areas of Grade 4, with a mixture of lime-rich loamy soils and clayey soils. The farming system has been standard arable rotations including wheat, barely, oilseed rape, beans and maize with typical yields for the region.

The farm is available in two lots split into 535.12 acres and 271.61 acres with some other options on pasture land and buildings (approx 70 acres in total).
