Amendments to GPDO to allow larger agricultural buildings.
The recent amendment of the General Permitted Development Order (GPDO) now allows permitted development for an agricultural building with a size of up to 1000 square metres.
This amendment, subject to meeting the relevant criteria, has doubled the size of the previous allowance which was only 465 square metres.
Rebecca Kaye comments “this is a good opportunity for farmers to be able to obtain larger agricultural buildings through permitted development which is a quicker process with lower planning fees than having to apply for full planning permission”.
If you are considering applying for the erection, extension or alteration of an agricultural building and are trying to identify the best strategy in obtaining permission please contact Rebecca Kaye or your local office.
