Poundbury's famous charity cake morning raises over £600.
Last Thursday Poundbury once again opened their doors for their famous charity cake morning!
Despite the ‘Beast from the East’ rudely inviting themselves to the party, the office was packed with Poundbury residents, professionals, postmen and police women who had put on their snow boots and braved the storm.
‘Once again the staff at our Dorchester and Poundbury offices have truly excelled themselves’ commented Peter Grout-Smith the organiser of the event. ‘The standard of cakes are exceptional. A huge thank you to everyone for their efforts and to those who took somewhat treacherous journeys to bring them in!’
‘We also held a raffle and prizes were generously donated by Highermoor Campsite, Morrish & Banham Wine Merchants, the Tank Museum, Swanage Railway, Minterne Magna Gardens, Enzo Ristorante, The Monkeys Fist, Clath, The Ship and The House of Dorchester. Raffle ticket sales were brilliant and we must thank these local businesses for their input.’
‘In total we raised over £600! This will be split between our two charities of the year, Future Roots and Ducks & Drakes. We are thrilled with this total considering the storm and our final thank you is to all those that supported the event even in the snow!’
