Auction Debut at Farm Sale for Chris Cary

We introduced a new auctioneer to a large gathering of farmers when Chris Cary picked up the gavel at Burtons Mill Farm at Wincanton on 29 March.

Auction Debut at Farm Sale for Chris Cary

Rural partner Greg Ridout said “ Chris has been very keen to start his auction career and as believers that ‘a volunteer is better than ten pressed men’ we were delighted to give him a chance. We were selling deadstock for Arthur Eastment after the firm had sold the farm earlier this year and, as ever, the farmers gave Chris as much help as possible.

Chris comes from a farming background and works from the Sturminster Newton office. He recently passed his agricultural valuers exams and is set to take his chartered surveyors exams very soon.

“This was the second time that we had held a dispersal sale at the farm having sold Arthur’s father in law’s, the late Bill Wrixon’s pedigree Friesian dairy herd twenty years ago”

Notable prices on 29 March 2018:
