What are you buying your loved one this Christmas? Perfume, lingerie, socks or something last minute that might end up in the charity shop? How about buying something really special that you can enjoy for the rest of your lives? That is where Symonds & Sampson can come to the rescue as their Christmas property auction might just have that elusive distinctive gift.

A chance to buy a cracker for Christmas

Auctioneer Mark Lewis is looking forward to the sale on 14 December “We have entries throughout Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire and we have already drawn interest from across the south of England as well as London.”

Agricultural land entries include 25 acres at Dulcote Wells, 26 acres in Shaftesbury which includes 8 acres of mature woodland, and 18 acres of pasture at Ibberton near Blandford.

Development sites include a wonderful location for 6 dwellings at Iwerne Minster, and an individual plot at Frome Vauchurch. At Gillingham we have an exciting potential site on the edge of town which has been identified in the North Dorset Strategic Plan as included within an area for residential development.

Garages are always popular and we have three blocks in Upton near Poole which make an ideal investment opportunity.

Renovations comprise a wonderful house in the Wylye Valley for updating. It was given as a wedding present to the present owner’s grandparents and her Mother was born in one of the bedrooms so it is quite a poignant sale. We will also offer a beautiful detached cottage in the favoured village of Trent near Sherborne and a bungalow for replacement at Kings Stag.

One of our most interesting lots is at Holnest near Sherborne. Red House Farm was owned by the late Sylvia Coffin and I was very honoured, and flattered that she specified in her will that the property must be sold by auction and I should be the auctioneer.

We have split the 44 acre farm into 4 lots: Lot A is a farmhouse and 4 acres, lot B farm buildings with planning permission to convert to a dwelling and 11 acres, lot C is 23 acres of pasture and lot D 5 acres of woodland.

There really is a lot for everyone at the auction and a great potential present for your loved one. Make sure you have plenty of wrapping paper!
