London Buyers Come To Us
Symonds & Sampson are delighted to welcome Bob Bickersteth, Director of The London Office, to our forthcoming London Property Initiative on 15th February at our Poundbury office, where he will be available to discuss the benefits of our presence in central London and the coverage the office provides as well as an insight as to the state of the London residential market.
Bob comments “Despite 2017 being a year of political surprises, the first increase in the base rate for 10 years and seemingly, never ending Brexit negotiations both the UK economy and the property market across the UK has shown demonstrable resilience. We are seeing increased enquiries from purchasers looking to move out of London with many taking advantage of the substantial price differential between the Capital and the country.
As the roads, railways and communications have improved to the South West, we are seeing an increasing level of potential buyers wishing to relocate there. Some for schools, some for work, some because of friends and family, others because of the beautiful rural countryside. Modern technology has enabled greater flexibility to work from home diminishing the need to commute daily bringing in areas that traditionally would have been off the search radar for those moving from London. We are in a unique position to attract these buyers from our office in St James’s Place and introduce them to the properties being marketed by the local offices’,
Richard Taylor, Partner, says “We currently have over 1000 registered applicants from within central London and the Home Counties; The London Office is an important and vital cog in our residential agency network to help ensure a close and active link with the London, national and international marketplace. Theses applicants are invited to our acclaimed Country Property Forums held biannually at The London Office, the next being on 21st March as well as the London and Country Property Show in early summer.”
