RICS Registered Valuer

  • Closing Date: 31 January 2021

Symonds & Sampson LLP are seeking an RICS Registered Valuer to be able to cover the whole of Wessex Region as required but based out of Wimborne.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

To undertake work types including but not limited to:

  • Level 2 RICS Homebuyer reports (Private and bank panel instructions)
  • Mortgage Valuations for bank panels.
  • Valuations for banks, private individuals, probate and general tax planning

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • RICS qualified
  • Registered Valuer
  • Full UK Driving license,
  • 2-4 years PQE
  • Ability to deal effectively with email and telephone enquiries
  • Diary and Database management
  • File Management and compliance
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft packages especially Excel spreadsheets

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Mortgage Valuations for bank panels.
  • Residential Red Book Valuation (preferred though not a prerequisite)
  • Level 2 RICS Homebuyers (Private and bank panel instructions)

Trainee Accounts Assistant

Symonds & Sampson LLP are looking for an enthusiastic and conscientious Trainee Accounts Assistant based in Poundbury to support our busy accounts team.

KEY RESPONSIBIILITIES

  • Dealing with both financial and client accounts
  • General administration

KEY SKILLS

  • Knowledge of Sage and other accounting software
  • Demonstrable numeracy and IT skills
  • Ability to communicate well with team members, other employees and third parties such as clients and suppliers

EXPERIENCE

  • Accountancy experience is not required in this trainee role, though some relevant skills are preferred and it would also be suitable for part-qualified candidates

HOURS

  • A full-time permanent role, 9am - 5.30pm daily

REWARDS

  • A salary of £17000 - £18,500 pa dependent on experience and skills
  • AAT qualification on a day release basis will be provided if appropriate, and the trainee will work closely with other team members on a wide range of functions to develop a broad skill-base

Residential Estate Agency Manager - Ilminster

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estate Agency Manager to join our award-winning Residential Sales team in Ilminster. This opportunity would suit a highly motivated, entrepreneurial person with a proven track record of at least five years in residential agency, preferably within the Somerset area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of sales team
  • Ensure office targets are met and exceeded
  • Meet with clients and assess their particular needs
  • Register and manage applicants
  • Generate and conduct Market Appraisals
  • Arrange and attend viewings around homes
  • Canvass for new business opportunities
  • Registering new clients according to compliance
  • Respond to queries via e-mail and telephone
  • Sales progression and liaising with solicitors

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Strong people skills
  • Good time management and ability to prioritise workloads
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent telephone manner and client facing skills

THE ILMINSTER OFFICE is a small, friendly, but highly successful office situated close to the centre of the town, within walking distance of local amenities.

Property Manager

Symonds & Sampson are looking for a full time Property Manager to join our Property Management Department.  The role will be home-based, however the ideal candidate will live and be familiar with the Bridport – Beaminster -Axminster area. An organised, flexible, cheerful and empathetic individual would be well suited to this varied and rewarding role. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Maintaining good relations with Landlords, Tenants and Contractors
  • Handling Telephone enquiries
  • Diary and Database management
  • Responding to emails
  • Raising works orders and processing invoices
  • Managing, booking and attending property visits
  • Processing rent payments
  • Deposit dispersal

KEY SKILLS 

  • Good level of customer service skills - verbal and written
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work within a team
  • High level of computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
  • Full driving license and use of own vehicle required

EXPERIENCE

  • Property management experience
  • High level of computer literacy including experience of software packages (training will be provided)

Rural Graduate Trainee/Newly Qualified Surveyor - Dorchester

  • Closing Date: 31 January 2021

We are seeking a graduate trainee or newly qualified surveyor to work within our busy Rural Professional team in Dorchester. The role offers a wide range of experience across many aspects of rural surveying and farm agency. It will also provide the opportunity for the right candidate to progress through APC and/or CAAV to further develop their career. 

A practical knowledge of agriculture would be advantageous. The position offers excellent career prospects for the right candidate, but self-motivation, good IT skills and ability to work as part of a team are essential requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES including but not limited to 

  • Valuations for banks, private individuals, probate and general tax planning
  • Farm & Land sales and purchases
  • BPS, countryside stewardship and grants
  • Planning for development of farm buildings and diversification
  • General professional advice for rural clients
  • Boundary disputes
  • Compensation claims, utilities and telecoms

ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED 

  • Completion of an RICS accredited degree
  • Full UK Driving licence

DESIRABLE SKILLS REQUIRED 

  • Probationer of the CAAV
  • Use of Promap or mapping software
