Building Surveyor

Due to an increased workload and ambitions for the expansion and development of the department, Symonds & Sampson LLP are now recruiting for an experienced Building Surveyor. This is a permanent and long term position, with opportunities for great career progression.

The candidate will ideally be MRICS qualified and will have between 1-5 years’ post qualification experience.

The position will be office based, with the hub of the department located in Wimborne, Dorset. The candidate will have a full UK driving licence and must be willing to travel in order to cover the firms’ area of work – Wessex region.

This is a superb opportunity to join an established and ambitious regional, multi-disciplinary Firm of Chartered Surveyors.

Remuneration will be dependent on experience.

Team Secretary

Our Yeovil Office is looking for an experienced secretary to support three surveyors in the expanding valuation and planning department.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years’ experience in secretarial work, including audio typing and will have excellent knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook. Other necessary skills include, mail merging, a good telephone manner, diary management and maintaining filing and document systems.

Experience of preparing planning applications is desirable but not essential.

Residential Assistant (Part-Time)

Our growing Sherborne Office are looking for a part-time residential assistant for 2-3 days a week (9am - 3pm) and some Saturdays. 

Responsibilities would include, viewings, sales chasing, booking appointments and follow ups. Strong knowledge of word, outlook and a good telephone manner are essential. 

Estate agency experience would be a bonus but not essential. 




The Wimborne Valuation department is looking for a a receptionist/administrator to work with an existing experienced administrator. 

The job is likely to be 9am-2pm 5 days a week with some room for flexibility. 

The ideal candidate will be professional, organised, cheerful and patient as this will be a primarily customer focussed role. Jobs and skills to include: 


·         Maintaining good business relations with panels, and private clients

·         Handling Telephone Enquires

·         Manage Surveyors Diaries

·         Proficient in use of Microsoft packages

·         Good level of communication skills

·         Multi-tasking and prioritising jobs 


      Etech and Quest Software knowledge advantageous but training will be given.
