Winter Property Check List
With Autumn now upon us and Winter just around the corner, Property Manager Emma Newman has prepared a useful check list to ensure you property is ready for the colder months ahead.
- Ensure there is at least 270mm thickness loft insulation
Insulate around doors, in loft spaces and in between floorboards to reduce any draughts - Repair door and window frames if required
Insulate any external pipes and any pipes in the loft to prevent freezing - Ensure the annual Landlord Gas Safety and or Boiler Service is in date
- If you manage the property yourself please remind your tenant to
- Have the chimney swept for any open fires, wood burning stoves and Rayburns or AGA’s
- Ensure the smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are working
- Winterise the garden
- Ensure the gutters are clear from debris
- Make sure the vents are not obstructed
- Remind your tenants to fill their oil tank (if required)
