Bathing Belles, Olivia Nurrish
When Olivia Nurrish moved to Weymouth in 1996, she fulfilled a long-held dream to live near the sea and paint. After graduating from Bower Ashton Art College in Bristol with a degree in Fine Art, she had lived in London for twenty years, working in television and raising a family.
Within her studio overlooking Portland Harbour, meticulous preparation of angles of view, compositions, sketches and colour sets go into the stunning still life, portraiture and landscape work for which she has become so well known.
Olivia has held a number of successful exhibitions in Lyme Regis, Portland, Weymouth, Dorchester and Bristol. She also was a founding director of Artwey, a collective of South Dorset artists, and has organised their Open Studio events including the OPEN FOR ART exhibitions in 2017 and 2019 and an official Cultural Olympic project 'The Giant Wall'. She is always happy to welcome you to her studio.
