12 Walks of Christmas - Day 7 - Silton
Lucy Carnell, Rural Surveyor and her beautiful labrador Ruby share their favourite walk starting at Silton, in the Blackmore Vale.
My favourite walk with my four legged friend Ruby starts and ends in Silton, Dorset.
We set out on the footpath running adjacent to the River Stour. This takes us up through a number of fields where we like to look out over the dairy cattle and sheep grazing in the nearby fields.
At the top of the hill there is a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. On a clear day you can spot five churches from the surrounding villages; Silton, Milton, Bourton (Lucy's choice for refreshment after the walk is The White Lion Inn) , Zeals and Mere. We come out in the village by the church and take the muddy lanes back around the village to the ford - Ruby’s favourite part of the walk as she loves nothing more than a quick dip in the river if it's been raining.
