12 Walks of Christmas - Day 6 - Lewesdon Hill
Our Day 6 of '12 Walks of Christmas' is brought to us by Caroline Childs-Chaffey, Branch Manager in Beaminster, and her four-legged best friend Button who take us to Lewesdon Hill.
There are many beautiful place to take Button the dog for a walk locally but without question her favourite (and mine) is Lewesdon Hill on the road from Broadwindsor to Salway Ash. An historical site which is now a beautiful wooded walk. It’s a steep climb in places but you are rewarded when you reach the crown of the hill with a view across to the sea as you rest and recover!
The best time to take this walk is Spring when the bluebells are out. Sways and sways of flowers cover the hill and the smell is wonderful.
Button and I often disappear to this place to stretch out legs and maybe chase a squirrel or two.
Caroline recommends a pit stop at the New Inn ,Stoke Abbott with its cosy fire and good food. You can even take a path from Lewesdon Hill towards Stoke Knapp which then takes you down the lane to Stoke Abbott.
If you'd like this walk to be on your doorstep, take a look at the range of properties we are currently offering for sale in the area.
