12 Walks of Christmas - Day 3 - Buckland Newton

Our featured walk for today is suggested by Lettings Manager, Lucy Nolan who suggests a beautiful walk around Buckland Newton

I’m lucky to have this walk right on my door step on the outskirts of Buckland Newton.  It’s a favourite walk for me and Bella, my ever-adventurous Cocker Spaniel.

At the bottom of Ford Down Lane is a bridle path that takes you on an ascent to a field where you are rewarded with spectacular views over the Blackmore Vale.   We have walked this route through all season including snow.  When we walking early enough in the winter month we have been awarded with beautiful misty sunrises.  We have witnessed an abundance of wildlife including deer, hares and many birds of prey.

From the field you follow a path that take you in a loop to a hill that descends back in to the village where we walk past our local, The Gaggle of Geese, where we have been known to pop in for a drink or two.

If you'd like this walk to be on your doorstep, take a look at the properties we currently have for sale in the area
