About Disperal Sales
The farm dispersal sales department is a high profile part of our business. From a handful of sales in 1990 to 26 on farm livestock, machinery, Standing Straw and Fodder sales in 2010 the department's success is a reflection of the state of the farming industry in the early years of the 21st century.
As well as traditional dispersal sales the department also holds specialist sales such as sales of timber, and vintage tractors. They have also helped along the sale of several residential properties by holding evening and Saturday sales of a variety of possessions which elderly clients have accumulated over the years.
Symonds & Sampson LLP handle on farm sales of pedigree and commercial livestock, plant, machinery and produce. Sales are held throughout the week, but Saturday sales have proved particularly popular with many people from outside full time agriculture, including 'weekend farmers', enjoying the atmosphere of our auctions. Sales of vintage machinery and agricultural bygones always attract a good crowd with good prices being realised as items for restoration or collection become scarcer.
The specialist sales department is based at Yeovil and covers the whole of the Wessex region, local offices providing valuable support.

About Fodder Sales
Large amounts of homegrown feed and bedding are sold each year throughout the Wessex region. Some is sold privately through Symonds & Sampson LLP who are constantly in contact with buyers and sellers. Other fodder is sold through our specialist auctions including grass keep sales in the spring, standing straw sales in the summer, standing maize sales in the autumn and on-farm sales of hay, straw, silage and other home grown produce through the winter. Auctions provide the best measure of market value, but having a flexible approach allows us to use public auction or private treaty sales, enabling us to provide the best service for our clients.
