Here we are on our stand at this years Move to the Country Show in Battersea.

After 2 years where very few farms have been for sale Symonds & Sampson are bringing to the market eight across Dorset and Somerset.  They extend from 30 acres to 172 acres and will give buyers an unrivalled chance to purchase a farm to suit their requirements.

We enjoyed a highly successful Property Auction sale on at The Guildhall, Axminster on Friday 20th April.  A full room, with an air of excitement prevailing enjoyed the proceedings.

The government’s flagship RDPE environmental stewardship schemes are still open to new applicants; the schemes run by Natural England are split into Entry (ELS) and Higher (HLS) Level agreements. The DEFRA produced maps of Dorset show a number of farms are not involved in either scheme and farmers and landowners could be missing out.

Symonds and Sampson are pleased to announce that their presence at Frome Market is increasing. In addition to our existing role as joint auctioneers we now have an office in the prominent courtyard location of the Market.

The Easter Saturday Portman Hunt point to point meeting at Badbury Rings saw another successful day for Symonds & Sampson who sponsored the race card for this event.

Our auction on the 23 March was held on the hottest day of the year so far and the high temperatures reflected the very warm interest in the room.  Residential, commercial and agricultural property was on offer in Dorset and Somerset and the sixteen lots raised £2.367 million

We were delighted to support League One team Yeovil Town by sponsoring the match ball at Huish Park for their recent game against Preston North End.

Two important changes came into effect on 1st January 2012 relating to the storage and spreading of organic manure and inorganic fertiliser on farms.

The latest Symonds & Sampson Review is launched.

We held our final property auction of 2011 at Sherborne on 15 December.  Fifteen lots were offered under the hammer with terrific interest from all over the country and prospective purchasers also flew in from Northern Ireland, Switzerland and New York.

Symonds & Sampson have always been keen to promote young talent in the agricultural community and this year were very pleased to sponsor the Melplash Agricultural Society education bursary for a local student pursuing a career in agriculture.

Described by the Royal Ocean Racing Club as ‘the most gruelling and challenging of the classic offshore races' the 608 mile course starts from Cowes Isle of Wight, along the south coast, around Lands End and then rounds the Fasnet Rock itself, off south west Ireland, back across the Celtic Sea, south of the Scilly Isles and then onto the finish line in Plymouth.

The Axminster office have recently sold Valley Farm, Rocombe, Lyme Regis.

The new Symonds & Sampson showjump made its debut at the weekend when the Cattistock Hunt Pony Club held their Open Horse Show at Pondsmead Farm, Halstock.

Our Auction on Friday 15th April in Sherborne was another very well supported event with standing room only.

We recently auctioned the Lillington herd of pedigree Holstein Friesians on behalf of Norris Weaver and Son at Lower Farm, Lillington near Sherborne.

We attended the Move to the Country Show organised by the London Office on April 14th this year.

On Thursday 17 March 2011 we conducted the dispersal sale at Manor Farm, Hardington, Frome on behalf of the Radstock Co-operative Society and The University of Bristol.
