We held our final property auction of 2011 at Sherborne on 15 December.  Fifteen lots were offered under the hammer with terrific interest from all over the country and prospective purchasers also flew in from Northern Ireland, Switzerland and New York.

Symonds & Sampson have always been keen to promote young talent in the agricultural community and this year were very pleased to sponsor the Melplash Agricultural Society education bursary for a local student pursuing a career in agriculture.

Described by the Royal Ocean Racing Club as ‘the most gruelling and challenging of the classic offshore races' the 608 mile course starts from Cowes Isle of Wight, along the south coast, around Lands End and then rounds the Fasnet Rock itself, off south west Ireland, back across the Celtic Sea, south of the Scilly Isles and then onto the finish line in Plymouth.

The Axminster office have recently sold Valley Farm, Rocombe, Lyme Regis.

The new Symonds & Sampson showjump made its debut at the weekend when the Cattistock Hunt Pony Club held their Open Horse Show at Pondsmead Farm, Halstock.

Our Auction on Friday 15th April in Sherborne was another very well supported event with standing room only.

We recently auctioned the Lillington herd of pedigree Holstein Friesians on behalf of Norris Weaver and Son at Lower Farm, Lillington near Sherborne.

We attended the Move to the Country Show organised by the London Office on April 14th this year.

On Thursday 17 March 2011 we conducted the dispersal sale at Manor Farm, Hardington, Frome on behalf of the Radstock Co-operative Society and The University of Bristol.

Our property auction covers have become quite legendary, and, for the past ten years, we have run with a different theme each year.
