Sell Out at Devon Auction
July 2009
A great day at Axminster for Symonds & Sampson meant that all three lots sold on 16 July to return a sale total of £1.4million.
The auction had attracted huge interest, particularly Tritchmarsh Farm which had 124 viewings and guided at £550,000 and a number of buyers battled for the property and after 86 bids, the property fell to a local person at £700,000. This property was being offered on the market for the first time in its history and was a delightful residential farm with a period farmhouse for modernisation, a courtyard of traditional farm buildings and 16.96 acres of level pastureland enjoying a lovely private setting in Umborne Valley.
Also on offer was Deems at Branscombe: a charming detached Grade II Listed cottage full of character with great renovation potential in half an acre of garden and grounds selling for £380,000 and Oaklands in Axminster, a well proportioned three bedroom bungalow with farm buildings and 19.19 acres of pastureland.
The next auction of property in the Devon area will be in October and for further entries please telephone Symonds & Sampson's Axminster office 01297 33122.
