Wimborne Office reports that they have been contracted by the Classical Festival Company to take on the role of Site Management for SERENATA, the classical music festival.
Britain's first ever classical music festival is taking place from the 26th to the 28th August on the Smedmore Estate at Kimmeridge in Dorset in the heart of the Purbecks. The site has breathtaking views past Clavell's Tower towards the Solent and the event is set to become one of the all time greats in line with Glastonbury and Camp Bestival.
Expected to host 5000 people a day the festival boasts world class headline acts such as Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson, Faryl Smith, Geoff Sewell, Blake and many, many more.
A-J Monro from the Wimborne office has taken on the role of Site Manager and to do this had to gain his Personal Licence Holder's Certificate having taken the BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate. Working in conjunction with SERENATA'S executive team A-J was responsible for securing the event licence from Purbeck District Council and will be responsible for ensuring that all health and safety issues are properly addressed. He will be working very closely with GSS4U (Ghurkha Security Services 4 You), a team of ex-Ghurkha soldiers who will be employed to manage all security on site.
A-J says "this has been a steep learning curve and I have had to work closely with the police and fire departments, the licensing officers from Purbeck District Council and various other regulatory bodies to ensure the event can accommodate the festival goers expected to number 5000 each day. I am really looking forward to August and seeing the culmination of what has been a lot of hard work for everybody".
The festival is being held in aid of Afghan Heroes, a charity close to the heart of Lesley Malpas, the Founder and Managing Director of the Classical Festival Company, who is responsible for creating and putting on the event.
Sponsors include Sunseeker Charters and Chateau de Sours as well as Westover Land Rover with whom AJ negotiated.
